Isola di Capo Rizzuto is a famous tourist area which is located on the Ionic Coast of Crotone. It lies on the centre of a hill, and softly descends towards the sea. This territory has been used by man since the Neolithic period, but the settlement, which in ancient times rose at schort distance from the sea, was founded by the Japigis at about 1200 B.C. but acquired importance only during the Bizantine Period.
